How can we break down silos in Life Science – and work better together?

That question framed a networking event hosted by Humvia Consulting and gr8 meetings in Västra Hamnen, Malmö under the theme:

“Enhanced Collaboration and Smarter Meetings.”

 

Ulrika Hedlund, Humvia Consulting began the evening by exploring how teams across Pharma and Life Sciences often operate with different goals, strategies, and metrics. Everyone had this experience.

Ulrika then moved on to what the key success factors are.
Successful cross-functional collaboration relies on:

• trust
• clear roles
• a shared understanding of success
• recognizing that different functions may have varying metrics for achieving the same goal

Things begin to change when we align around a purpose, or a common goal and start speaking the same language.
We are all here for the same thing: Enhancing patient care through the right treatment to the right patient.

“This is where I come in. With extensive experience across various functions and geographies (Medical Affairs, Marketing, Sales, and Market Access in affiliate, cluster, and global), I serve as an interpreter and facilitator to help team members appreciate each other’s potential, communicate in a common language while striving to achieve the same goal.”

Micke Darmell from gr8 meetings then built on the cross-functional theme by reminding us that meetings are not merely calendar items; they reflect and shape our culture, priorities, and energy.

When meetings lack purpose, preparation, and presence, we drain value. Yet, when we meet with intention and a common goal, we create space for genuine progress and connection.

His message:
